Die Audemars Piguet Royal Oak wurde von Gérald Genta entworfen und 1972 eingeführt. Sie gilt als die erste luxuriöse Sportuhr und ist das bekannteste Modell der Manufaktur, die 1875 im Vallée de Joux gegründet wurde und ihren Sitz in Le Brassus hat. 1984 folgte eine Royal Oak mit Ewigem Kalender und 1986 eine skelettierte Version. Introducing the new iteration of the Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin (RD3) for the first time in 18-carat white gold, taking inspiration from the two 39 and 37 mm models in stainless steel released in 2022. Powered by the ultra-thin selfwinding flying tourbillon movement, Calibre 2968, this new 37 mm iteration is the thinnest gold model offered in the 37 mm Royal Oak collection. The flying tourbillon takes pride in its place at the center of the expressive smocked blue petite tapisserie dial adorned with 32 baguette-cut diamonds.
